Member to Member Workplace Challenges:
Social Networking and Management and Leadership Programs

This month's meeting will be an opportunity to discuss and share work issues. What learning and development initiatives are working and how? What are the challenges? Come here some of the latest findings from your peers and share some of your own with the group.

The two topics of focus this month are - Social Networking and Management and Leadership Development.
There will be four short presentations covering:

• Jeanne Meister's Social Media Boot Camp report
• Social Networking practices at Hess
• Management and Leadership framework for curriculum and talent management
• Building a Supervisory program and the importance of getting HR buy-in.

Your member presenters are Jim O'Hern, President-Elect of ASTDNY, David Discenza, Chapter Past President of ASTDNY, and Sanford Gold, Chair of our Training Directors SIG.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:
Jim O'Hern, President-Elect of ASTDNY, has been in Corporate Learning and Leadership Development for most of his twenty-five year career. In 2007 Jim moved to Hess Corporation, where he is coordinating learning and employee development.
David Discenza, Chapter Past President of ASTDNY, is a Senior Learning Manager, offering vast experience in Learning & Development. He has been a member of the NY Chapter since 2005, and is founding chairman of the Training Directors' SIG. His work experience includes positions with Fortune 500 companies such as CIGNA HealthCare, General Electric and his current employer, American Express.
Sanford Gold, Chair of the Training Directors SIG, is Training Director at Prudential, where he is responsible for supporting the enterprise learning functions and executing business learning strategies and solutions.

Training Directors SIG Membership: This SIG is open only to directors or managers of training and development functions, or to anyone who has held this role in the last 12 months. All registrants are vetted for eligibility.
